[Reflection] Olivia Kim - Small Yet Significant Leap Forward

I joined Green Tree Club because I wanted to spend time with younger kids who need a little extra support, and I thought it’d be an awesome way to connect, bring some joy to their lives, and learn from the experience myself. I love how rewarding it’s been to be part of their lives, even in small ways.

Working with Green Tree has been so fulfilling. Planning and running activities for the kids was a blast, and I felt a real sense of pride seeing them have fun and pick up new skills along the way. Watching their excitement and curiosity reminds me why I joined—to be part of their growth and happiness.

I’d love to help plan more activities that let them learn while having a good time. My goal is to design things that align with their interests and encourage them to explore new hobbies and passions. We could try out hands-on science experiments, simple art workshops, or even music and dance activities—experiences like these can help kids find what they love and boost their confidence.

I think programs like Green Tree are so valuable, not just for the kids but also for single parents who might need extra support. These kinds of programs create a positive environment that benefits everyone, giving kids and parents resources and experiences they might not otherwise have. If more people got involved in similar volunteer work, it could really strengthen our community and make a difference for families in challenging situations.

Volunteering has shown me how small actions can have a big impact, and I’m excited to see what Green Tree Club can accomplish as we keep supporting those who need it most.
