[Reflection] Minju Jung - Memories for Good
Volunteering is something I enjoy because it allows me to help others and connect with people I might never have met otherwise. When I learned that Green Tree’s focus was on supporting kids, I was even more motivated to join. I love spending time with children—talking to them, playing, and sharing what I know, as well as learning new things from them. I see it as a chance for a great exchange where both sides gain something valuable. I believe this will be a meaningful experience for me and will help me grow through helping others.
During the activities, I found so much joy in watching the children’s pure laughter. We spent time dancing, singing, and playing, creating a positive environment for everyone. It was exciting to work in a different setting than what I’m used to, and it gave me a chance to understand the kids better and have fun conversations with them. When we first started teaching them how to dance, I loved watching them run around and play together, often with a ball. If we get the chance to go out together again, I would love to spend more time hanging out with them and making more memories.
Moving forward, there are many activities I’d like to do with the kids. First, I want to take them to a playground. Growing up, going to the playground with my family was one of my favorite memories, and I’d like to give these kids that same happy experience. Playing with them on the playground could create memorable moments for both them and me. Secondly, I’d love to take them to a board game café. Teaching them how to play new games and enjoying the experience together would be a great way for us to bond and become closer as a group.
Overall, joining Green Tree has given me a chance to connect with kids in a way that’s both enjoyable and fulfilling. I look forward to creating more memories and continuing to help them in any way I can.
