[Reflection] Angelina Kim - Common Goal, Common Good
In my first semester at Cornerstone, I had tons of clubs to choose from, but Green Tree Club immediately stood out to me. I’ve always loved volunteering, helping others, and spending time with kids, so it felt like the perfect fit. I’m really excited about getting the chance to visit kids at shelters and actually interact with them.
One of the activities I’d love to do with them is art. I think art projects are awesome for kids because they give them a chance to focus and express themselves, and I’d get to support them along the way. Even though I’m not exactly a pro at drawing, I think working on art with them would be super fun and meaningful. I’m especially excited to see their creativity and imagination, which is something only kids bring. Art projects are also unique because they create something lasting, a keepsake for both the kids and us club members to look back on with great memories.
As students with busy schedules, we’re limited in how much support we can give to underprivileged communities. We may not have all the resources, knowledge, or mobility, so finding creative ways to make an impact is key. Fundraising or organizing events could really help us reach more people and make a bigger difference.
Overall, I’m thrilled to be part of the Green Tree Club and can’t wait to jump into different volunteer activities and contribute however I can.
